Biography

王鲁闽，密西根大学核工程与放射科学系、材料科学与工程系终身教授，主要从事核工程材料的辐照损伤、核废物处置及新型核燃料研发、离子束材料改性、离子束纳米材料制备研究。先后主持科研题目50余项，总经费数千万美元，已发表SCI论文450余篇，论文已被引用1万9千余次，h-因子= 71。入选 斯坦福大学“全球前2%顶尖科学家榜单”，在AD Scientific Index核材料辐照损伤研究领域世界排名第五，北美第三。

Abstract

Nuclear engineering materials are exposed to an intense particle flux in the reactor core. The interaction of energetic particles with the atoms in the solid material displaces those atoms from their stable positions, creating lattice defects and leading to microstructural and microchemical changes thus the early failure of materials. Radiation effects at the nano-scale have also been utilized to process various unique nanostructures which may have important applications in advanced devices. This talk will review the fundamental radiation effects observed in the speaker’s research group over the past 30 years, and will outline the future opportunities in the research area.
